Trading update
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, companies are
required to publish a trading statement as soon as they become reasonably
certain that the financial results for the period to be reported on will be
more that 20% different from that of the previous corresponding period.
Accordingly, shareholders are advised that earnings during 2006 have
declined as a result of the payment of STC related to the special dividend
paid in July 2006. Details of the dividend and the related STC was set out
in the circular dated 31 May 2006 and in the Company`s results for the six
months to June 2006, which were released on 25 August 2006. The company
therefore expects both the headline earnings and earnings per share for the
year ended 31 December 2006 to be 20% to 40% lower than those of the prior
corresponding period.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not
been reviewed or reported on by HAHL`s auditors. The results for the 12
months ended 31 December 2006 are expected to be published on or about 5
March 2007.
