SECURITISATION - NEW ISSUE
Woolworths has issued R1.015 billion of asset-backed debt securities in a second
issuance since the launch of its R5 billion securitisation programme in February
2005. In terms of the programme, Account On Us (Proprietary) Ltd ("Account on
Us") purchases store card receivables originated by Woolworths from time to
time, funded through the issue of rated asset-backed debt securities in the
capital market. This recent issue funds the growth in the Woolworths store card
receivables portfolio since the initial issue.
In terms of the issue, Account On Us issued both Class A and Class B notes rated
AAA and AA-, respectively, with maturities ranging from 1 to 4 years. The notes
which will be listed on the Bond Exchange of South Africa were purchased by a
diversified investor base including asset-backed commercial paper conduits as
well as institutional investors.
