Trading Statement
The directors of SELCo hereby notify shareholders that the company`s earnings
and headline earnings per share for the six months ended 31 December 2006 are
expected to be approximately 60% to 70% lower than the earnings and headline
earnings per share for the six months ended 31 December 2005. This decline can
largely be subscribed to expenditure incurred in the undertaking of requisite
maintenance in the electricity grid to secure the electricity supply of
customers, thereby safeguarding our revenue stream for future periods. We
expect to make further investments in the next three months.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by SELCo`s auditors. The interim results are expected
to be published on or about 20 March 2007.
