| The portfolio will be an actively managed exchange traded fund ("AMETF") listed on the JSE. Its primary objective is to achieve long-term capital growth by investing predominantly in global equity securities listed on recognised foreign exchanges that the Manager identifies as operating in, materially benefiting from, or being closely associated with the Artificial Intelligence revolution and related technological advancements.
The portfolio will be managed in accordance with the investment limitations applicable to the ASISA Global - Equity - General portfolio classification category. It will follow a research-driven investment strategy informed by the Manager's macro-economic outlook, thematic analysis and market assessments. Investments will primarily comprise global equity securities and participatory interests in collective investment schemes (including ETFs) with a focus on companies operating in, or benefiting from, high-growth science and technology sectors, including artificial intelligence, telecommunications, media and technology, automation, robotics and related enabling technologies.
The portfolio may hold cash, money market instruments, short-term deposits and participatory interests in money market portfolios for liquidity management. It may also invest in listed property, bonds, debentures, securitised debt, exchange traded notes and other permitted financial instruments for efficient portfolio management purposes, including hedging and risk reduction, subject to the Act and applicable subordinate legislation. Such financial instruments do not form part of the portfolio's core investment strategy.
The portfolio may invest in foreign assets and in participatory interests of local and foreign collective investment schemes where the applicable regulatory environment provides investor protection acceptable to the Manager and Trustee. The Manager may create, issue, redeem and cancel participatory interests in accordance with the Act and the Deed and may vary the portfolio's asset allocation to maximise capital growth, subject to the Act. The Trustee shall ensure that the investment policy set out in the Deed and supplemental deed is carried out. |
