Choppies - trading statement
Choppies issued a trading statement indicating that its financial results for the 12 months ending 30 June 2026 are expected to be significantly lower than the previous year. Profit after tax is forecasted to decline by 17% to 27%, with total operations expected to generate BWP69 million to BWP79 million, compared to BWP95 million in FY2025. The decline is attributed to macroeconomic challenges such as reduced consumer liquidity, currency devaluation, and rising fuel and transportation costs. Despite these pressures, the company maintains a positive outlook, focusing on strategic initiatives to improve profitability and growth. The final results are expected to be released around 19 September 2026.
